I was pulled over for running a red light and the officer gave me a ticket for that and for not having a car insurance. The car was borrowed and it was insured, can he do that or can I fight it in court?

I have to pay the ticket or go to court by Nov. 28
total of $652.50.

Please help.

If you're over 21, then you don't have a problem. Just bring a copy of the insurance policy to court. You may have just been cited failure to show proof of insurance. If you're under 21, you may not be covered by the policy.

Did you show the officer the insurance card during the stop?

In addition to having car insurance, you have to show PROOF of insurance when asked. Take the paperwork into court showing that the car is/was insured and explain to the judge that you had borrowed the car and just couldn't find it (if that is what happened).

That's your best shot of getting the insurance charge dismissed. You're on your own for the red light charge, though.

When you go to court, just show them proof of insurance. This charge should be dropped. As far as the red light citation, if your car was totally across the 2 foot white line before the light turned red then you must prove this to the judge. It will be your word against the officer who gave you the ticket unless you have a witness.

Not enough infprmation here to answer the question. The car may have been insured for the owner to drive it, but you are not the owner. Was the second ticket for not having proof of insurance with you?

all you have to do is show proof that the car was isnured at the time of the ticket and that part of the ticket should be dismissed, then all you have left is the red light violation
