I use your typical store-bought all purpose flour. Is there any reason why this happens? Should I get different flour or store it differently? Help!

It's hard to imagine any baked good that didn't have flour. Perhaps you could try some gluten-free recipes that don't use wheat flour and see if those are more to your liking.

Follow the recipe and use whatever kind of flour it calls for. If it just says "flour", then all-purpose should be fine. If it says another kind like "cake flour" use that. But the main difference should be in texture, not in taste, if you use a different kind of flour.

I'm not sure what you are baking. I've never had anything that tasted like flour, as you say. I would different flours.I've decided to go more healthy and it has made my baking taste better. I get unbleached flour. There are several kinds like King Arthur, and Hodgen Mills. If the bags at the store say enriched or bleached - all the good stuff has been taken out.
