Should you choose a career, just because you can get it? Is anyone working in a career that when they were younger they thought they would never work on that career? if so, are you happy?

You should choose a career because it's what you love to do. My career path has on two separate occasions "led me" to a position that I didn't like, so both times I took what many would consider a "demotion" to go back to what I love. I've never regretted either move, but I know I would regret staying in either position. Being stuck in a job that you took just because it was "attainable" will never lead to happiness or a feeling of fulfillment. However, working your way to your "dream job" (or as close as you can get to it) will be much more satisfying and rewarding in the long run.

No, not just because it is atainable. It should be one that is interesting to you, for which your'e qualified, has opportunities for advancement and may even lead to other pursuits.

I had several positions over 25 years in the education and automotive industries which, early in life, I would have never even thought of.

Remember, you will probably change career fields several times during your working years and may even retrain several times as well.

No, you would call that a job. A career is something that you'd be doing even if something else came along.
