A lot of religious people I know have absolutely no doubt that their religion is the right one. And if it's the Bible - or Quran or whatever the holy book may be - then it's the Absolute Truth. But don't you ever have doubt and suspect that some of these things are actually false? Don't you ever use reasoning to determine what is true and what isn't in your holy book? If you do, what do you doubt, and if you don't, what about your religion makes it so easy to believe?

My friend and I were arguing about this today, so I just wanted to take a poll.

NO !!!!!!!!

I Believe There Is a God Who Created Us and This Planet.

I believe His plan of Redemption.

The Bible makes total sense to me.

I believe it is of the Spirit and if you are not Spiritually decerned you can't understand it.

Actually, I *do* think about my faith.

What I've come to realize is that I find that I often doubt myself and not God. I sometimes wonder if I'm really living with Christ in my daily life as much as I could or should.

Then, I pretty much come to peace with the fact that I'm human...and being human, I'm often tempted. I've learned that I should just put my faith and trust in the love and mercy of the one true God.

I've also learned to focus on what's important and to realize that a great deal of the "other stuff" really isn't important. For example, where we came from (evolution vs creation vs whatever) is NOWHERE near as important as where we're going (what happens to the eternal soul).

I also know that I'm not now, and probably won't ever be, a biblical scholar. I DON'T have all the answers. Only a very small percentage of them. BUT, I *do* have my faith...and that's really what's important.

It's all about putting things in the right perspective.

I did have doubt when I was younger as a Catholic but as I grew older and left that church behind , I never forgot God. Then one day I more or less came back to God through faith in Christ and grew closer . Now there is no doubt in my Faith , just in my self .Look into the old testament and see what God said to the Jews and look at there history. They are back in the land God gave them after 2500 yrs or so and it also has the same city and capitol as it did back then . So if this can happen why would I have doubt that the Bible is true .

As a Jehovah's Witness we continually check what is said at our meetings in our bible. If we have any questions or arent sure about a certain point we ask our elders in the congregation to help us find the answers we seek biblically. We never take people's words at face value.

Experience has confirmed that it is wise to heed this Bible counsel: “Quit being fashioned after this system of things, but . . . prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” “Do not be loving either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” Yes, we are wise if we do not copy the world or pine for what it has to offer. Our prime concern should be for God’s approval, which cannot be obtained by pursuing the things of the world.—Romans 12:2; 1 John 2:15, 16.

Its not about religion! Its about a relationship..... A personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. And if you dont have one you will never understand until you do. I dont care how smart you are or how much money you have. You will never understand what it means to know the absolute truth until you begin a relationship with God. That is why I know the Bible is the infallible word of God and there is no other scripture. Hope that helps. God Bless <>< <>< <><

I've never really doubted the existence of God, but yes, I've doubted my actual religion many times, and am still asking a lot of questions about it. People have tried to tell me that I'm being heretical by asking questions, but I don't believe that. It's okay to examine one's faith.

Its natrual to doubt that that's based fullyyt on faith. that's why God has given us prayer and revelation, so as that we are able to bypass directly to the source for solutions, quite of a few e book or some individual. everybody who would be unable to comprehend or practice this thought has thoroughly ignored the factor of the Gospel.

Of course I do ... I'm a Catholic, but we don't think that the Bible is the 'Word of God' and it's only ONE BOOK ... yes, it says a lot of good things, and I read the Bible through every two years ... but I do have 'doubts' about the 'official beliefs' of my church ... if I didn't, then I'd have to find a different church to belong to ... I NEED TO QUESTION because I need to GROW ...

All the time! Then I pray, and read my Bible and ask for forgivness. It isn't easy sometimes, but it's what I believe is right. I pray that Jesus will guide me and keep me on the right path.

In my case it is buddhism and as it is a path in life more than a religion there is no need to doubt as such.
