I'm 16, and I've been playing golf for 8 years now. My best round is a 73 (par 72). What's your best round, and how long have you been playing?

No, I'm actually not lying. It was in the qualifying round of the "Red Ryan" junior city tournament in Manchester NH. It's on the internet if you feel compelled to try and prove me wrong.

I'm 32 ... been playing seriously for maybe 15 years.
My best round in an official competition I think was 1 over par on a par 71.
In league play (not playing the ball 'down') I've shot four under for nine holes on three seperate occassions.
I think my low causal round for 18 was a 67 on a par 70. That was a number of years ago...
I normally shoot somewhere between 75 and 82 on courses here in Ohio.

I don't know why anyone would think you are lying. I saw a 16 year old shoot 59 in a high school tournament.
I've been playing 41 years. Lowest gross score was 62 on a par 72. In a net tournament. I had a 1 handicap and finished 3rd. Lots of sandbaggers in that tournament.
When I was 17, I played in a two day tournament and shot back to back 66's on a par 72 course that I had never seen. It's been a long time since that happened.
Keep playing and practicing. Maybe one of these days we'll see you on television. :-)

Yes I believe you as i have seen youngsters your age and younger shoot the same and in some cases lower on our par 72 course. As for me 72, 73, 74 are my lowest.Started late at 50yrs and always wished I had started earlier in life an ex hockey and cricket player so can still give the little pill a good nudge after 13yrs playing. Good luck and keep on keeping on and remember to do good, its whats between the ears that matters if you make it or not, the other skills you are already well on your. I have seen a lot of youngsters tip over because they could not manage the top 2" And also that little thing called testosterone when those little girls crop up and the brain fly out the window. But I know that WONT happen to you!!!! will it??

Yeh Im with Ted P on this, Im a Junior Golf coach and I offen travel to events with all my kids... Consistantly I see scores of below par from 14, 15 and 16 year olds. The games generations are getting younger and younger which is absolutly great for the game.
I have been playing for 16 years, lowest score of 64 (home course, par 70). I was 18 at the time. Im playing off 1 at the moment and regulary play 68's to 69's...

no offense buddy but this is a score you should remember all the details, the first time. If you were 3 over as opposed to 1 over, you could have been 10 more spots down the leaderboard. Not to say we don't believe you man but don't change your story 16 hours later.
My best round was an 80 on a par 70. Pretty lame but true.

I'm 46 years old, playing for about 13 years. Self taught and my lowest round came this year. 66 on a par 72 6,200 yad course. It was also in a match play tournament and the guy didn't give me any putts. I was on fire that day and beat the guy 6 and 5 but continued the round to post the score.
FYI: I'm a 4 handicap right now.
