Do they have have belief restrictions? Could you say you were a nazi? Could you be a member of the Klan?

I don't they have a problem with having/supporting Communist beliefs or the party. If you are a Nazi they will deport you and it is impossible to stay in this country if you are/were a Nazi. They deported an 80+ year old woman because she was a Nazi so I doubt they would let you join the armed forces.

I don't think they would let you be a member of the Ku Klux Klan and serve but call a recruiter and ask them.

Technically the military can not disqualify you because of your political beliefs. There are severe restrictions on political advocacy amongst military members. The military is supposed to be apolitical, in that it does not matter to us if the President is a Democrat, Republican, Whig, Federalist or what... we shut up and salute and carry out the mission. That being said, in my personal experience about 80 to 85 percent of the military members I met were Republicans... I think this has more to do with the fact that the Democrats started "loathing the military" (to quote Pres. Clinton) back in the 60s and really haven't stopped since. Getting spit on, or having your comrades in arms spit on, in the San Francisco Airport tends to have an impact on ones political views.

However membership in or association with certian groups (like the Communist Party) will either make you either a security risk...(and you can be kicked out for that) or a threat to good order and discipline. (Threat to good order and discipline is technically why openly gay troops are not allowed.) For example if someone had a KKK tattoo, it would be noticed (the military shares shower rooms) and that would likely be a cause of problems in a unit that had non-white troops in it. You can't afford problems like that in a unit that is going into combat, so people with KKK or other such assoications would be removed from the military.

Ever heard of the ANP? American Nazi Party?

It's a political party that actually has gotten people on the ballots before. They cannot do **** to you if your part of it. It's the magic of America. If you say something like "I'm a communist that wants to join the military to leak information to the motherland" then they may not let you in lol

if political freedom exisats in your country it shouldn't matter. the important thing to the lords and masters of the military is blind obedience to orders, just like Nazis beleived their military should be run. or Stalins communists beleived their army should be run.

Not a problem as long as you do not advocate the violent overthrow of the government.
