Actually if properly maintained the xc90 is a great truck and no car is perfect, go to consumer reports and check them out

and xc90 is an expensive car as well as its maintenance, but its a volvo !!! its the most safest car in the world plus its parts are made for lasting...Now a pathfinder is good car too but gas is its problem. Now are you looking for a good 4x4 car ?, you should check volvo v70 cross country or a toyota hilux

bottom line the xc90 is a very good snow car with some[limited] off road capabilities
the pathfinder is a truck with better than fair on road capabilities although acceleration is only fair.
if you want the best of both worlds my suggestion is the Japanese "grand wagoneer" TOYOTA LAND CRUISER[ not to be confused with that fj cruiser thing]

none ! xc90 is not so reliable and the lack o interior space is bad in the other hand Nissan pathfinder is big eats to much gas and for a well equipped one u will pay to much i suggest to get the new Mitsubishi outlander for what u pay is the best small size SUV

XC90s are known for blowing headgaskets.
pathfinders have more power and more built.
