As a Christian, i've got faith that folk who recommend atheism and/or any of the particularly some non-Christian concept platforms can particularly be advantageous to society. So can Christians. yet while somebody needs to state that Christianity reward society mutually as different techniques merely won't have the capacity to, i could disagree with that. i'm able to talk of ways Christianity has shown to be efficient to me individually, and could additionally factor to the numerous Christian charitable businesses available; although, atheists are additionally particularly able to performing charitable acts, merely like anybody else. As a Christian pacifist, i discover that following a process peace has made me a kinder and greater giving individual, which in turn, makes me a greater acceptable member of the society at great. Society is converted in a favorable way while guy or woman individuals of that society can hit upon a course that leads in the direction of greater team spirit, productiveness, charitable habit, and peacefulness. Christianity (and atheism, Hinduism, and particularly some different platforms and philosophies) can bring about guy or woman transformation, which in turn reward the bigger inhabitants via including yet another in contact and charitable guy or woman to society.

Be their friend. Allow them to grieve. Encourage positive activities if need be. (Discreetly discourage them from self destructive behavior at all costs.)
Be a true friend. God is there for them, why aren't you?
A person with a broken heart does NOT want to "hear" about God (most likely). God is love, and they're not very trusting of love at the moment. Let them grieve peacefully. God will bring him back without any preaching. Just be a great friend.

Let that person know that you will be there to listen when he needs to talk and will accept whatever he has to say with love, patience and understanding.
Be a shoulder to cry on even when you don't have the words to express how much you care.

Leave all burden at the foot of the Cross, and He will regenerate your heart.
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." -- Isaiah 53:5
"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." -- 1 Peter 2:24

A lot depends on the nature of the "hurt". Let them completely talk it out & voice their hurts. It at least helps to unburden themselves from the situation & say exactly how they feel. See if there's any way you can come up with any reasoning with them in trying to "let go" of it in some way. Pray w/them & ask the Lord to help, and put it in God's Hands to help take care of the hurt. Remind them of the poem "Footprints". How many times things have just gotten too much for me & I asked the Lord to "carry me thru". It was just too overwhelming for me & I asked Him to carry me thru. I turned things over to Him to lead & direct me in what I should do, which way I should go. Remind them when one door closes, truly another one opens. Let them know you are there for them at any given time if they need you. The Lord is ALWAYS there rite beside them at all times, all they have to do it call on Him & He's rite there w/them. See if there is anything you can do to occupy their minds, get them thinking in another direction. Let them know too THIS TOO SHALL PASS. No ones knows why things happen, but the Lord does. He knows what's in store for them. We need to stand firm on His promises that He'll ALWAYS take care of His children. Say the Lord's prayer together. Cast your cares upon Him & He will direct you, He will NOT forsake you. He has healed the sick, done all kinds of miracles, He can help heal a broken heart. We just need to put our trust & faith in Him. He w/NOT let us down. Just have faith & He'll see them thru.
