And the only other species was an ape, but a lovely ape. And you knew that if you try, eventually you and the ape may be able to conceive humanoid-ape children which, over thousands of years of evolution may someday form into a "normal" human population. Would you at least give it a try or would you just give up and let life as we know it cease to exist on this beautiful planet?

I wouldn't try to have another child of some sort. I believe that if this earth is mean to be alone for awhile...then so be it. Something would be born again eventually.

You know what a better question is?
What if you and the ape had an ape baby and then 2 years later you realized there was quite a large population of humans living in a bunker in a mountain with more than enough capeability to repopulate the earth....
How would you feel then?

If I were the last human it would likely be due to some form of stupidity on the part of humankind. Just look at what we've done to this beautiful planet already. So I'd let humanity die out, the planet would recover and eventually some other species would evolve into intelligence.

i imagine element of being a human calls for connection with human beings or a minimum of animals, like a puppy. There must be some beginning of friendship or connection with someone or something. If I were the perfect man or woman in the international, i imagine i'd be critically lonely, yet a minimum of i'd have my dogs as a spouse!

I'd run as fast as I could from the *lovely ape*.
I mean I'd be a streak of lightning on the ground I'd run so fast.
Then I'd hide from the ape while building a raft so that I could find Gilligan cuz I'd rather have a child with him than an ape.
On second thought it's not so bad being alone.

You can't make babies between a human and an animal, otherwise believe me some scientist would have tried it already. Not to mention the sick people out there that actually do commit the sin of beastiality. Besides for a person that believes in the Bible, I know how the world comes to an end. Just read the book of Revelation, which is the last book of the Bible.

With only one human, chances are it'd just eventually turn back into almost 100% apes, maybe with a little more intelligence.
I'd prefer a gorilla.

Tough question. I do not think I would be starting a new race of half ape half humans. Would be hard to bring myself to being romantic with a animal.
