My son is 16 months and only has 6 the 7th has just broken through. I asked my pediatrican about this and he said its fine. Have you talked to your pedatrician? He might recommened xrays or something to make sure everything is fine.

wow, sounds like my 14 year old son, he was not premature, but he started walking before he had any teeth ! true story, he cut his first tooth at around 13 months old. I dont know why either, some kids are just late I guess. but if you take him to the dentist, they can see if he has teeth in his gums from an x-ray. and they can estimate when they will probably break through

if his doctor hasn't said to much about it so i wouldn't worry. and all kids are different, my kids were all over a year old before they got their teeth. and from what their dentist says the longer it takes to get them the longer they will have them, which is a good thing. my daughter is 18 months and weighs under 20 pounds and she doesn't have all of her teeth yet. but the doctors aren't concerned. does he show any signs of teething? like swollen gums or crabby?

my full term children did not get teeth till after 13 and 15 months.

nothing to worry about. It's a good thing, actually, because an ambulatory baby can soothe and distract themselves more from the discomfort in their mouths better than an infant.

And your question is?

Well, I guess it doesn't matter. You should be discussing this with your doctor, not us. Haven't they explained this to you already? Did you ask?
