The dietry laws are very similar, but kosher meat is not halal for a good number of Muslims, and not every food that is halal for Muslims is kosher for Jews. There are some very liberal viewpoints from some Muslim scholars concerning meat and shellfish and the such, but there are some stricter ones who have more restrictions (I follow the stricter, correct interpretations (Shia)). I wrote a list of all the restrictions I could think of for all types of Muslims from all schools of thought and put them in a list:
Pig (pork, bacon, lard) & rabbit is Haram (forbidden).
Horse, donkey and mule should not be served.
Food touched by people who are not Muslim, Jewish or Christian is Haram.
Food labeled Kosher is not necessarily Halal. Kosher meat is Haram.
Insects such as worms, spiders, or snails are Haram.
Any animal that has claws or is a predator is Haram.
Amphibians (eg. Geckos, Frogs etc) are Haram.
Cows, chickens, sheep are Halal if slaughtered correctly.
All shell fish (eg. crabs, mollusks etc) are Haram but shrimp is Halal.
Fish that are identified as mammals or fish that lack any scales are Haram.
To be on the safe side you should serve either cod, tuna, haddock or salmon but no other type because the fish laws are complicated.
Blood, urine, drug, poison and alcohol-containing drinks and foods are Haram.
Any meat (except fish) must be slaughtered to the Islamic way by a Muslim butcher, otherwise it is considered Haram.
Any food that contains ingredients derived from any animals or anything forbidden from this list (eg. Gelatin, animal fat, Cochineal etc) is Haram.
Vegetarian or Vegan foods are Halal.
That's seems overly strict but that is because I included all the rules from all the different schools of thought. The average Muslim is much more relaxed.

No, the only restriction the Jews have that is the same in Islam is no pork. Everything else is allowed. Also, though, in Islam you are not allowed to drink alcohol or anything like that.
Peace

NO. We do not eat pork nor drink alcohol. But, if a muslim isnt sure about whether something is free from pork or alcohol and cannot find hallal, kosher is the best route to go. I actually buy alot of kosher items.
Just remembered about fish is you can eat anything from the ocean dead or alive, whatever your stomach can handle

It is similar but not identical. They cannot eat pork, but I'm not sure about the shellfish. Jews eat kosher. Muslims eat halal. If a Muslim cannot find halal food in their community, its generally accepted they can eat kosher.
