If you are adjusting a scope on a rifle, it should have an arrow showing up or down. Up is usually counter-clockwise. All my scopes are like that. That will move the bullet impact up. Remember, most scope adjustments are for 100 yards. Usually 1 click = 1/4" at 100 yards. 4 clicks to an inch. At 50 yards you'd have to go 8 clicks to get it to move an inch. At 200 yards you'd only move it 2 clicks to get an inch of movement. Have fun shooting.

Simple rule: Move the rear sight the way you want the bullet to move on the target.

To make the bullet strike higher you want to raise the rear sigh. That will force the receiver end of the barrel down which elevates the muzzle and casts the bullet higher on the target.

Most gun screws are right handed threads and that would mean turning the screw to the right or clockwise should raise the rear sight.

The better quality sights will have markings indicating the direction with an arrow.

it should have an arrow marked up (usually counter clockwise)
on the adjuster. most scopes have a cover that you have to unscrew & remove to get to the adjuster.
