Did they happen in the Middle East before Israel - with America's help in the form of political and financial support and armaments - dehumanized the palestinians?

There have been instances of suicide bombings for quite a while, a good example being the Kamikaze pilots in WWII. However, I don't think they really started taking hold outside of war until the early 1980s. The first suicide bombing I remember was the one in Beirut that killed so many Marines. However, I don't think they were happening in that area before Israel. Yet I think part of that area was a British colony for quite a while. There may have been some suicide bombings against the Brits that didn't get mentioned. But I don't know that for sure.

Edit: No, I don't think Palestinians were doing suicide bombings before 1948.

I assume you mean "Israel" the political nation designed by the US + Allies after WWII?
And not the tribe.
Then yes, of course they did. Heroic death has always been apart of that culture ("that" meant to encompass Jewish, Christian [obviously] and Muslim).
Suicide, although often seen as a sin, retains some of that honor comparably. It's situational.
Start with Masada.
A fortified city occupied by a jewish sect was surrounded by Romans. Rather than face capture, enslavement and death. They committed mass suicide.
Somehow in their death by suicide they made a statement that a "shameful" death held more honor than a "shameful" life of political imprisonment.

Come on! I'm a liberal, but not one of those blame-America first types. This type of thinking gives us a bad name. There is Islamic terrorism because it is ok'd in their book, not because of American misdeeds, which are many I might add. If Israel gave the Palestinians everything they wanted, do you think that peace would erupt. If you do, you are not realistic!

suicide bombings originate from the jihad, there is much controversy on this subject, as defined in the lkoran a jihad is a inner struggle with god, however many extremists use this as an excuse for suicide bombings. no all palestinians or muslims for that matter believe in suicide bombings.

No they could not figure out how to make gunpowder by themselves.
This made it much easier than beheading the innocents and would enable them to kill many more women and children.
