No, I can't befriend someone who denies my Lord and Savior.

Of course I would. If we don't befriend them, then how else will we lead others to God?
In fact, I have recently befriended an atheist. I haven't mentioned anything about God or anything yet because I know that will only push her away.. However she knows i'm a Christian... and she likes me just fine. I want to show her who I am and who God has made me to be without shoving a bible in her face. My student ministry leader always says, "Preach the gospel, and if necessary, use words."

Vice versa? Do you mean would I, a person who doesn't believe in God, befriend a Christian? Mmmm maybe. But not if they were going to tell regularly tell me about how wonderful it would be if I started believing in Jesus.

I will befriend anyone that I get along with. But do I spend the majority of my time with them?? I spend the majority of time at church, taking bible study, taking prayer meetings, ministering and evangelising. Will my new friend come to all these and participate? If he/she does... then I would have a new Christian friend. If they don't, then we won't have heaps of time together, which is unfortunate. I make time for my friends that aren't believers as much as possible.
Take care, God bless

As an atheist, I have many theist friends. We are such a minority, it would not be possible to only have atheist friends. We are also very discriminated against. In a recent survey, many parents said they would rather their Christian kids marry a Muslim over an atheist. Not that either is bad.

i'm a "holy roller" and i have lots of friends, most are christians from all denominations, some are atheists, some agnostic... i have found some of the kindest people i know are athiests, and i know some people who give themselves the title "christian", but are not Christ like! Christ was friend of all, and paul called himself the "chief of sinners"...
it is important to respect eachother, i love God, and everyone knows it, but i would never shove it onto someone who clearly doesn't want to talk about it...

I am a Christian and I befriend people regardless of their beliefs. Many I befriend without even knowing their beliefs.

If they will let me; haven't found many on this forum yet that seem to want my friendship, but that's okay. To each their own. In the "real world" my friends run the gamut of belief/unbelief.
BTW, I'm a proud preemie parent, too!

Yeah. I have athesit friends. Religion is something we can talk about, but it isn't something I shove down their throats. Although it is sad to know that they don't have God int heir life right now, it doesn't mean that I should be friends. Maybe somehow, God wants me to be friends with them to she the gospel. If you just avoid them, then who would any of the Athesists become Christian?

Most of my friends are Christians. I also have a few pagan and agnostic friends, and some with whom the subject has never even come up.

WhatKind, not ALL Christians are backstabbing, thank you.
Amanda, you're right, this site can be ridiculous.
I have a few Atheist friends at work and we get along
well, we do not discuss religion.
