If so, then why did God make them suffer in a drought for over a month?

Was He just setting Himself up for the win?

Not much of a "win": his little shower fell woefully short of the amount necessary.

And funny how the prayer meeting was only arranged after the forecasts called for rain....

Ronin, YES, I believe with all my heart that the rain was a blessing from God and an answer to the Governor's prayer!

God did not make them suffer in a drought. These are naturally occuring things...droughts, floods, etc. Although, I do believe that God uses the elements to try to open eyes...scriptures document this. Now, I am not saying this is or, was the case, in Georgia, just pointing out the facts.

You see, as Christians, we do believe that God can change things, if only we ask...in truth and from the heart! Therefore, prayer is just a part of the Christians life! It is conversation with our creator, God.

Are you truly serious, when you ask if God set this up to get points with man? *NEWS FLASH* God is GOD! He does not need to prove His existance to anyone nor, does He try to prove Himself to those who do not want to believe. God does not work in the manner in which you stated this question. He does not have to pull silly "pranks", such as a long running drought, to get favor! This is mans thinking...Not God's!

How sad, that anyone would think such, of God. God loves you more than you will ever be loved and I am praying, with all my heart, that you will allow His love to touch you. That your heart will be receptive, to the One, who created your soul.

May God Touch You and Bless You With a Love Only He Possesses,
Gail

Just a heads up, I posted this same question and it was deleted for being offensive (I guess that was the reason?).

I left out the "drought" and "win" parts of your question though.

To answer your question, no I dont think it was God's work. I think it was a seasonal shift in weather patterns. However, you could consider all weather God's work if you believe in God.

A potent cold front producing rain was already headed that way at the time of the prayer. Although it had the potential to drop up to an inch (and did so in Tennessee), Atlanta received 0.07".

Its apparent you have an opinion that you're not really sharing and only enticing others to give answers to a question you really don't care about the Anders, but rather are setting yourself up for a "win' by loading the question and then later going in for the real issue, which is some issue or question you're really cooking up.
Dang- get to the point already !

We have had very little rain. I find it offensive that you are using this as an excuse to attack Christians and to mock God and blame Him.

God was not MAKING us suffer.
He had nothing to do with the drought.

No one has won yet. We are still suffering.

Would it be too much to ask that you show just a TINY bit of compassion for Georgians?

God answers prayers, and everything He does is just. Maybe they needed the drought so they could see who was still in control.

Hmm. Yesterday one of the regular Christian posters said God withholds rain from sinners. Did they all suddenly get better?

Do people really still think god controls the weather?

We've been doing detailed modeling of the weather with supercomputers now for 20 years or more, and there hasn't been a single instance where the laws of physics were even slightly annulled.

The people who were praying got inside information behind the scenes from the top meteoroligists.
