hi what do i have to do and what happens with my husband adopting my daughter?

he has been around for 2 and a half years, and my daughter calls him dad.

what do i do so he can adopt her properly?

dnt say get legal advice as i will do that later on once i know more

there is also no contact with the 'sperm donor' as he left me wen she was born

Please don't refer to your daughter's father as a 'sperm donor'.

That term will be hurtful to her. Remember, she is half of him.

Also remember, she didn't choose him--YOU did.

Most solicitors practising family law will offer a free half hour appointment to answer these type of questions. It costs nothing and you'll probably get more sound advice than here on YA! Failing that Citizens Advice Bureau are always really helpful too

I hope your daughter never hears you disrespect her father - she ought to be able to make up her own mind about how she feels about him - she is part of him

well i know you will have to have lawyer with this to adopt her. to change her last name. i would imagine they will put out letter saying that hes the dad or whatever unless you didn't name him at birth. if you didn't it could be clear and cut dry you wouldn't have to. take care.
