If I pray for something, and truly mean what I'm praying, will God answer it?

My prayer does not unclude anything materialistic, I do not want someone braught back from the dead. My prayer is within reason of his doing.

I've been prayeing really hard and deep. I hope he answers it sooner rather than later, for my heart is aching for this prayer to be answered.

Someone once told to pray to Him as if He had already answered my prayer. For example, if I was prayeing for a red bike for christmas, I would pray in this manner: "Thank You Lord for my red bike". I've tried praying that way too and try to keep a positive attitude, but I so badly want my prayer answered now.

What can I do to keep my faith and not get impatient with God?

One must first live what one says........God isnt a vending machine where you put in a prayer and choose what You want............
All this ask and get and belief yet not living a Wholesome Christian Life and ABIDING in HIS WORD and it Abiding in you..........Its when God is our father and we have aReal relationship with Him....that we share with Him our Life........and He isnt just a something out there when you are in need to supply it...........But He"s GOD 24hrs a day , 7 days a week , and 365 days a year........and us talking to Him in that same amount of days / weeks / and months..........not just when we are in trouble or in need....and people wonder why , and get angry when prayers are not meet..........Cause you done walked to far away....to even hear Him any more............
Sin seperates man from God..........so does it seperate you from hearing HIm..and the Bible says..For he who knows to do right and does it not to him it is sin "

I once prayed for something, and waited two years for the answer. Some of my prayers have not been manifested yet, at least not in my eyes, but that doesn't mean that God did not hear them. You cannot give up in prayer, no matter how long it takes. If you are praying according to God's will for Him to move in your life or someone elses, then He will answer.

While you are waiting on the answer, read your Bible, get involved in church activities with other people your age, or do volunteer work. You will be surprised how quickly the answer will come when you are busy doing a work for Him.

God bless you, and I will be praying along with you for the answer you so deeply desire.

Lovingly,
Virginia

Well look, the simplest way I could explain to you is that this is between you and God himself. See it all depends on what you are praying for, example something crazy, or since you said it was reasonable, I guess in your case you will have to think about it, sometimes God does not give us what we want because maybe he knows it is not good for us and it will hurts in ways you can't understand, or maybe he wants us to learn that he works on his own time. We should not doubt God or get impatient with him because that would upset him and he might leave you in the long run if blasphemy against him. The best you could(I know it is hard) is to wait to see how many great things God has done for you and that would keep your mind of it, and let God work on his time and he will be Great to you.
Hope this helps you
psss Don't give up on God or he will eventually give up on you

Prayer.. it's not something used as a magical wish.. it's your communication with God.
Don't get disappointed because something doesn't come through in a timely manner. Right when you acknowledge you need or want something.. God hears you. Which is why in the bible it tells us to pray deep in our hearts...

I can tell you that He has already answered your prayers.. all you have to do is work for it. God doesn't give us anymore than we can handle.. or in other words, whatever it is in the world that we want, WE know we can achieve it.

strength and guidance be with you!

If your prayer to God is of his Will then he will answer it. In time things will come but God doesn't want us to want things of the flesh (material items, desire for money, desire for cars, etc..) we should put God's will before ours, and if we please him, then he will reward us not only in heaven but on Earth. But be careful, great and powerful pastors, apostles, and Evangelists have fallen because of their growing desire and greed for things that are from this Earth. We are told to kill and bury the flesh (meaning get rid of all the desires and wants of the flesh) you may have a bike, a car, but don't desire it over doing God's will. A rich man told Jesus he followed all his rules and commandments and what was left? Jesus told him to Give away all his possessions and follow him. The rich man left sad because he had many great and valuable things. Then Jesus told his followers, the richest people have the hardest time getting into heaven. We must acknowledge that everything is from God, and whatever God gives us, we are willing to give it back to him if he asks for it.

Prayers are answered in God's timing. he knows what is best for you. Be happy about the prayers that do get answered. God doesn't lose any prayers. When He decides it is right He will answer them. Sometimes He wants you to change before He will trust you with the answer. Ask Him what you need to change to get your prayer answered. And to answer your question, It's raining in Georgia. lol

prayer does truly work. if god feels you really need this thing you have been praying for he will give it to you. i know sometimes it is hard not to get impatient but you just have to believe that god has your best interest at heart and in his mind. also dont feel ashamed to ask friends (or other christians to pray for you). everyone needs prayers and we shouldnt feel ashamed to ask for them. keep praying and your answer will come

Yes! Prayer does work and it is powerful! I will say this about prayer....God answers all prayers but, the answer comes in His timing. He is the wise one and so, we pray, unceasingly, with faith and standing upon His promises!

I too, have been impatient with God....but, I have learned that sometimes....I am taught patience through my impatience with HIM! I hope that makes sense to you but, it is a fact! We must wait upon on the Lord, as He does answer all prayers and at a time when it is PERFECT! Remember, God's timing is perfect, ours...is not!

I will be praying for you...for your faith to be strengthened as you wait upon the ONE, God.....to answer your request. That your heart will ever seek Him and grow in truth and in His LIGHT!

God Bless you,
Gail

Pray for the needs of others as if they were your own needs. And as some have said G-d knows what's best for you and yes He listens and answers to all that pray sincerely, but sometimes answers No.

If he doesn't answer your prayer, you will lose faith? God
answers when he feels the time is right.
Also, there's an old saying but not from the Bible- The
Lord helps those who help themselves, if you can help
get your prayer answered, He will help you with it but
when the time is right.
Edit- Please ignore the bad answers. Jump off a cliff indeed. I have Atheist friends at work and they do not
say things like that.
