Fill your sink with cold water and put the ham in the water. It will thaw out by dinner time.

NEVER UN THAW IN HOT WATER ! COLD WATER IS MUCH QUICKER, FILL YOUR SINK WITH COLD WATER, PUT HAM IN A WATER PROOF BAG, AND PLACE IN WATER, ABOUT EVERY 30 MINUTES TO 45 MINUTES CHANGE THE WATER AS IT WARMS. ALWAYS REPLACING WITH COLD WATER, IT IS VERY SAFE,
ANOTHER WAY IS IF YOU HAVE A UN THAW BUTTON ON YOUR MICROWAVE MOST HAVE 2 BUTTONS ONE READS TIME DEFROST AND THE OTHER IS AUTO DEFROST, USE THE AUTO DEFROST, WHEN YOU PUSH THE AUTO DEFROST ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS PUNCH IN THE WEIGHT OF THE HAM, AND THE MICROWAVE AUTOMATICALLY SETS THE TIME.

Don't know how big your ham is but the micro would work partially. Defrost in 3 minute intervals until the outside is soft and then do the rest in the oven. That's the only thing I can think of unless you want to cut the ham as it defrosts.

HAHA! That's a good story actually... Sorry to hear it! Anyway, here's my tip:
1. Wrap in plastic, or put in plastic bag, Fill sink with hot water (not boiling) and place ham in.
2. Pre-slice ham (if you can) and bake like that (from frozen) with water and covered well with foil
3. Put the ham in a water bath in oven and heat it slowly and well covered.
4. I know ppl who cook turkey and ham from frozen very successfully just straight in the oven. Key is to start it off low for like 3 hours, then season and bake as per usual.

I would jut cook it from the frozen state. Just do it on a lower heat. Most hams are already cooked so you are just reheating it. But if yours is not that type I would just put it on a lower heat and cook away. I actually know someone that does this with turkey's

Why would you freeze a ham? It's a smoked meat, never freeze it. Keeps in the fridge a long time.

Jimmy D, not ALL hams are smoked. Most of them are salt cured, one way or another.
