we've been dating for like a week or two...what are some signs to keep watch for?

All young men want sex...100%. That said however, does not mean that its his only interest. What he want should not be the major issue. What you want should be your primary concern. Know yourself! "To thine ownself be true". Rely on your inner self to help guide you in matters of the heart...not your heart.
Try and remember that it takes time(many, many weeks) to really get to know someone...and you still might not know them. Does he carry himself with dignity, are his manners good, do you have good clean fun together? These are some of the issues to consider.
Be confident though, in yourself and make sure you are always respected and treated nice.

He keeps trying. Doesn't appear to have much conversation. Doesn't appear to listen to you at all or be interested in your life or anything

If he is pressuring you to have sex. If you blow him off and he gets angry then he just wants sex. He should respect you until your ready to have sex with him. If you start having sex with him and he just calls you to have sex, then he isnt wanting to just date you, he is using you. So think of what you want before you have sex with him.

all guys want is sex. we think about it all the time. just tell him if you are ready or not off the bat. he'll either back off or keep going out with you.
