Most of the Atheists I see on here and around my neighborhood are fairly happy people. The ones that come on Yahoo! Answers seem to always have a good time.

Where did this idea that Atheists are always angry come from?

Religious Propaganda -

If religious people were taught that atheists or other-believers could be happy then the name-brand religions would lose customers.

The angry anti-religious posts some put out? Fundies and hardcore Atheists are both as bad as each other, trying to force their ideas of extreme nature on everyone. I have no problem with normal Atheists, who aren't hypocrites, but that it. Just the same with Christians, and all other religions. If you aren't a hypocrite while preaching your religion or lack there of, I am fine with you.

So I guess the thumsdowns mean I should go around supporting either the Anti-Christian Atheists or the Bible-Waving Fundies? Okay, I can do that.

The anger comes from hearing Christians praise God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in their lives. When a Christian praises God, atheists tend to SOMETIMES reply back in a somewhat negative tone. That tone is perceived as anger because it is non-supportive and occasionally attacks the speaker with negative accusations and badgering questions.

If an atheist replied back in a non-bias response, the tone would diminish. The response should include legitimate questions and not harassing slings at the other party. It is that kind of behavior that immediately identifies an atheist. Why not try to fool them and answer back from the heart (not from your closed fists)

Admittedly, all Christians have bad days and tend to spout off. It is our responsibility to avoid spouting off, but instead to calm the storms between each other. Since nobody is perfect and we are all sinners, my Christian brothers and sisters are going to slip and say the wrong thing. Please don't hate them for that. They should not ever hate you, or anyone else either.

Let's see who can respond with the most mature, intelligent answers and leave out the sarcasm or offensive labeling for the longest....GO!

LOL - who says that atheists are angry?

They WILL be angry one day - when they realize that God IS real, and it's too late to do anything about it.

But for right now, there's no reason why atheists should be categorized as "angry people."

Oh, yeah - I HAVE known some atheists that are very angry - mostly because they were deeply hurt, or they lost a loved one, and now they hold a lot of anger and bitterness in their heart, so they decided there couldn't possibly be a God.

But, otherwise, no - atheists aren't necessarily angry people.

We don't believe that they are always angry.. it's just very hard for us to understand how they go on everyday in this world, not believing in a higher power.

God shows us the path through life. They can not believe in Him all they want, but He still loves them with His whole heart, and He is still the Good Shepard. He guides them in every direction they are supposed to go in, and whether they take it or not, He's giving them the chance to make a difference in the world.

Christians don't think Atheists are angry.. we just don't think they are taking the right path in life.

My advice to them is to just live a good life and be kind to others and one day, God will forgive them for not believing, because He never gives up on any one.

Have you never seen atheists tell us that we are idiots, dummies, that we are child abusers, that we do not need to have children, that we are uneducated, etc.?

Look at some of the questions that some atheists ask. They ridicule us and do nothing more than bait us.

I'm sure I don't know. I am not angry about anything. Does the fact that I find religion amusing convey anger?
