Why would he give us freewill in the first place? Maybe it was a mistake in his eyes, but then why does he not take it away?

Anger and jealousy are such "human" feelings, which if you believe in it, limit this omnipotent god. Then maybe he is not as powerful or perfect as people think he is, but if it is so then what is the point in worship to him?!

If you believe that the god is angry and jealous, then maybe it is so but then why would he be angry at us relatively small and powerless compared to him, all he has to do is interfere or be a "bigger man" and let the anger go.

It's not important to the deity, if it was then it would take the stance of non-interference.

Looking in the book that talks about that deity, there is no freewill when you have a structure made that if you step one toe outside the line then you are being punished for it. It really doesn't give you the option of using your brain and making your own decisions.

God gave us free will so that there could be an exchange of real love between Him and us. God's anger and jealousy is only kindled when our actions show loyalty and love for the person who first went against God,, that is to say the man of lawlessness. And the way you structured you question shows your agenda quite clearly.

You know, what I can't understand is that this god, at one point in time, slaughtered the first born children of Egypt to prove his power to the Pharoah. Yet he refuses to "interfere" in our free will ... even though it might prevent us from going to hell.

God is jealous of our love. He wants it for Himself, but He'd rather us choose Him instead of making us choose Him. Because if we were forced it wouldn't really be love. Since we're not, we're free to love Him and God gets more Glory from it.

i guess God wants to be pissed off at something. if He wanted peace and quiet, He should not have given us a well-developed frontal lobe. no brain, no problems i say.
