I heard from some of my friends that over 50 people translated the Bible completely removed form each other and when they came together their translations were like 99% accurate. Has anyone else heard of this or have an online reference for this?

As there are quite a few translations of the Bible the number is in the thousands.
Any how when your dealing with translations one of the things you would have to conted wm, but considering there are quite a few translations the number is in the thousands.
Any how when your dealing with translations one of the things you would have to conted with is the subitlies of language which can make it heard at times to realy determine which is more accurite, it dose not matter what text it is, you will always have scholars saying either translation x is better than y. Even though there are some areas of translation that are bassed on opinion of what vocabulary words best describe a concept, if you have a group of scholars translating the same text no mater how big it is there should be a lot of simularites as it is the same text. this could be the case for a language class where the students ae expected to translate the Bible.

They were not only "translated", but changed and altered, taking advantage of the fact that the people who speak the language it is being translated to will take their word as they cannot understand the original language. The Bible has been corrupted and adulterated and many things have been made more lenient and relaxed in the Bible, and people like it and do not complain. In the Old Testament, for example, eating/touching pork is forbidden. But all of a sudden in the New Testament, the pig is no longer a dirty animal and is clean for eating. Did the change in pigs occur magically? Besides, even 99% accurate wouldn't be accurate enough to be the true religion. Only the Qu'ran is 100% accurate because it was unchanged. Islam came about because Christianity was corrupted in such ways, and the final of the Abrahamic religions rose, unable to be corrupted and is complete.

The legend is that the Septuagint was translated by seventy scholars who all came up with word-for-word the same versions.
If you want to ensure the continuing divinity of your ideas through another language, that's a hell of a rumor to start.

Haven't heard that story.
There have been thousands (maybe hundreds of thousands) of people who have translated the Bible throughout the ages.
What translation are you referring to (KJV, NIV, LXX, RSV,...)? What language are you asking about (English, Italian, Latin, French,...)? You need to be far more specific.
And probably all translations into one language will agree to 90+%.
