When writing about a novel, how do I punctuate the Title?

As in a paragraph about Pride and Prejustice, how would I punctuate this title?

If you are writing it on paper, underline the title.
If you're typing it, italicize the title.

Most novels don't have punctuation in the title for the simple reason the titles are too short. If you check in the library (or even on Amazon.com) you'll notice that most books have titles of four words or less. Book titles aren't sentences and don't usually require puncduation. Pride and Prejudice (note spelling) is the name of the book and doesn't require any punctuation. You'll notice that it isn't a complete sentence, it doesn't have a verb, just three words, one of which is a conjunction.
Whoops! I misread your question. Sorry. You aren't asking about writing a novel but in writing ABOUT a novel. Okay - when you use the name of the novel in a review or a paper about the novel, you simply underline the title or put it in italics - one or the other, but not both.
And now you probably know more about titles than you ever wanted to.......

Capitalize the main words and Italicize the whole title. no quotations, or underlining needed.
