the coffee is not effective! Right now I feel like going to sleep but I have work to do. Should I go drink another cup of coffee or something with caffeine?

What should I do? Thanks in advance. =)

I second the Red Bull suggestion. There is also a similar one called Mother that I am a big fan of. I drink it at work for a pickup and it works wonders.

Whoever said that sugar makes you tired doesn't know. Sugar will give you energy. Red cordial is good- sugar and that red colouring gives you a hype. Chocolate has a lot of sugar and caffeine.

Keep in mind that caffeine can give you that pick up, but too much will make your thoughts scattered and make it harder to concentrate.

Definitely drink another cup of coffee. I would say drink soda for the caffeine but all the excess sugar will just make you tired. Do what I do, carry around caffeine pills in your purse. I have an office job and tend to get sleepy from time to time.

Eat an apple. I swear it works. I forget the rational behind it but it's better than drinking three cups of coffee. I can swear by its efficacy. We used to party 'til the usual hours people call ungodly and show up for a 7a.m. call time for choir practice - I don't drink coffee because it roughens my voice (I like the grainy quality for speaking but my singing voice would be compromised) so instead I have apples. It also helps if the apple has been chilled. Another alternative would be tea. Of course, tea is also known for it's relaxing benefits so don't go for the chamomile or lavender. More of the peppermint and vanilla, or, Oolong and Earl Grey. Ginger-peppermint might be good for you. And even if you are getting enough sleep, whenever you feel drowsy, refresh yourself with a short walk or, if your circumstances allows you, a short jog, or, like if you're at work, toss a ball around. It'll rewire your senses. Or if you prefer, have something sweet, a very small snack; maybe a nibble of chocolate might help. Good luck.
