instead of just showing everyone how stupid you are and swearing at me, prove the data wrong... i would love that actually. MSNBC, regardless of what you think of them, carried out legitimate research, if there is something that you disagree with about how they carried it out then you can share that here, otherwise take your ''i hate democrats'' garbage somewhere elsel

Well Ben, that same army is the one that doesn't tell include mercenary deaths in death tolls, and gives us death toll figures that are about 1/3rd of what every other independent research or even the UN give us.

people who consistently gripe approximately conflict, in many situations hate to study actual historic previous, and notice what happens if a rustic keeps to be "non violent", whilst others attack, and/or they have never been enlisted. that is honestly the militia itself that sent them in, no longer Bush. Admirals and Generals, convincing the secretary of protection that it is the best time, place, and component to do for fixing the concern, which they did particularly properly. in case you submit to in innovations it exchange into better than a three hundred and sixty 5 days in the previous we did something. Plus that's what militia volunteers, which each one among them have been, are keen, and swear with the aid of oath to do, to maintain the lives of others, whether it demands sacrificing their own, or areas of it. Ask any Vet that has been there, there are just some that may not say that they are happy that they did it, and entirely help the conflict happening. (which now, isn't something better than being cops, and helpers to Iraq's public.) in case you haven't any longer served interior the militia, close-up, in view which you haven't any longer have been given any theory as to how lots determination making, and arguing is going on, in the previous doing something related to conflict. in case you seem back in historic previous, as to what handed off whilst the "flower little ones" of "peace and love maaan" forced Nixon to pull out of Vietnam..... It led to hundreds of extra human beings to die. better than double the variety (if i'm no longer wrong) that had already died, after 4 years, or extra of struggling with.

Don't blame the Military for "pushing" suicide cases to extinction. They were already mentally flawed in the first place. If you kill yourself because you had to patrol some gay road outside of BIAP for a year, You are weak and you probably would have killed yourself had you not been in the military anyway. I have more fun on deployment then I do back here in the states.

my thoughts for you...it stands to reason that there are. I just spent the summer on the east coast at a military installation--I won't say which one ok?
I seen so many wounded soldiers and so many heavy hearts that it actually for myself--gave me a new light on things and new respect for America's Best.
When those troops hit home ground--it can actually be worse for them than the war they just left. Tours are not just simply a few months--they are in upwards of 13-18 months-sometimes longer. My fiance just came back from his third tour.
It is life for them there--they grow close to their units and it is actually home for them, they know nothing else for a long time.
When they get back to the states--the transition back into civilian life is pure hell for them. This causes them frustration and anxiety--and often times anger because war changes them--all the death and kaos they have to go through.
Some of them just simply cannot handle it and more often than not--they are NOT getting the treatment they need right away to help them--they have to like--take a number and wait in line..seriously.
When they arrive--they are in dire need of counseling services and when they have to wait--they get extremely angry at times causing them so much anxiety thinking that the help is so far away--sometimes 30 days down the road.
In the meantime--they drink alot, stay in their rooms cooped up because that's what they do in the war--they fight and go to thier rooms most of the time. Get up and do it again every day. They do not know what to do.
We--you and I perhaps have no idea what those troops go through over there-the death and destruction--the mass killings and all of that contributes to one *ucked up head!
They feel they have no recourse at times but to end it because they are so full of the war and the flashbacks of killing and death are very vivid in their minds--always will be. Without the proper help and care--they literally lose their minds and commit suicide.
So, the rate of suicide can be and would not surprise me to be higher than that of deaths by war in Iraq--because they feel no one understands them--and no one does or will until they have been there and through their hell. Thank you-

The data sounds very suspect. At a rate of 125 suicides per week, that means 6,500 per year. I highly doubt those numbers.
Now, are there real mental health issues in our vets that should concern us? Most definitely. But, I think CBS can make that point without trumping up false data.

They aren't "crooks and liars"... they are "crook sand liars"
All they do is lie about stuff related to the big sand box...
LOL You know nothing about the army!!! ACTIVE DUTY TROOPS includes ALL of the active duty army! What planet are you from that you think only those deployed are active duty? Planet Liberalbrainwashedwithcrap?
Whoa... are you implying that MSNBC knows more about army stats than an official army website? Wow, I underestimated you.

Its very sad.
6,000 + Suicides of veterans mainly from the war on terror, mainly ages 20-24, in the year 2005 alone.
It goes to show this is not the type of war to fight. It goes to show training to be a warrior, does not mean you then go and pretend you are a police officer who must come in contact and act appropriate with children, and daily life of civilians.
Warriors must fight a standing army, and kill the enemy. Keeping battle as far removed from anything that resembles home. That way they can detach, and then come home to a different world.
The children, and daily life is too close to home when they are playing police roles. Therefore it is too high of a mental burden.
You cannot expect a man to see a young girl or young boys playing which WILL remind him of his own children, or brother. Or to see a market much like at home, people buying food and shopping. And maintain the ability to snap into warrior mode.
It mixes 2 things that should never be mixed. Too much of a subliminal impact. One that will last forever, and flashbacks that will come at moments that resemble many in life back in America.
It is very sad.
* I have a feeling if this war was to fight a sttanding army, and to leave, involving NO policing streets, not only would suicide r ates among young veterans be near zero, but the ammount of psychological damage when they came home would be overpowered by the vast difference of experience there, and here.
