That's not tacky at all, it will get him cultured and it's a perfect place to enjoy a night out. Bring the presents and it will be a blast for him. I would do it.

Your son is 4... you may have more fun at a chucky cheese or a place that he loves to eat. But no... people bring presents to olive garden all the time. The only problem is... since he is so small he may get loud when you open the presents and that can bother the other people there eating. I dont think it is a good idea. If I had a screaming 4 year old at the table next to me I would be angry at the parents for not thinking about others. If he is really well behaved and knows how to use his inside voice... then by all means... have fun with the family wherever you want!

If he likes Olive Garden then by all means go and have a good time. If he doesn't like it, then take him to his favorite restaurant instead. Most chain restaurants will come out and sing happy birthday if you give them a heads up that this is the reason why you are there.

Well, if the Olive Garden is his favorite place to eat, then I say that sounds fine. But if not, I would maybe ask your son where HE wants to eat, and take him there. Bring the gifts. Have a good party. He's four, he probably won't accuse you someday when he's twenty of giving him the worst fourth birthday ever, lol. Best of luck!

It's not tacky at all, especially if he likes Olive Garden (my 4 year old nephew's favorite place to eat is Applebees). Then when his bf gets better you could take the two of them to Chuck E Cheese or some place fun.

I was gonna suggest Chuck E. Cheese too
I will say that my two kids 4 and 6 would love to eat at Olive Garden too, so I say if your son likes Olive Garden, go ahead and go, but if he doesn't like Olive Garden, go somewhere he picks
have a good time!
My daughter turned six on tuesday, and we were planning on celebrating this weekend, but she woke up this morning with a fever, so I hope she feels better soon!

Were you only going to invite his one little friend? If so, pink eye doesn't last forever. Why not just put it off a week and still have a little party. If you choose not to do that, I would go somewhere a little more fun for a 4 year old. Maybe someplace with a play land. Not that much fun for you and hubby, but he will enjoy it. Best of luck!

You can celebrate any way you want! Make sure to mention that it is your son's birthday so they can sing to him and bring a birthday treat!! We take my kids out to dinner on their birthday every year! It's a fun family tradition. Maybe have his best friend over for cupcakes when he is well enough to play!!

I agree with Shell. Try a more child-friendly restaurant. I really doubt your 4 year-old wants to go to Olive Garden.

Mabey you could take him to Red Robin. We just celebrated my brothers birthday at Red Robin, he is 6, and we loved it! And if it your birthday, you get a free sunday with sprinkles and the whole staff will come around and sing happy birthday to you! Its really cute!
