I just gave birth one week ago, by way of C-sec, and I have this huge flap of skin that hangs down. I remember a little flap with my first child that went away really quickly, but this thing looks like it will never go away. I am skinny otherwise and had only gained the bare minimum that one should gain during pregnancy-25 lbs, so it's not like its a bunch of flab. Can I possibly get rid of this eventually? My husband won't say anything, but come on-it's gross! I can't afford surgery.......I would just like to hear from women who have had this.

Your skin loses elasticity the more it is stretched. Keep it lotioned, and give it time. it will pull back up to some extent over the course of the next year.

But you will always have some sort of pooch.. its just the signature of a c-section.

:( I feel your pain... I had 2 vaginal births and I had a little pooch that went away then I had a c-section and got the flap, now I've had 2 sections and it got worse, not too much worse though. I think that it'll be there forever. Sorry. As far as I can tell it happens from the scar tissue sort of supporting the fat, even a small amount of fat and pushing it outward. I agree with the other woman who said go for a tummy tuck. I heard that the hollywood stars have them done right when they have their c-sections done so they don't even have to go back later (I begged my OBGYN to attempt one on me lol-I didnt care if she had a plastic surgery licence or not, I was willing to take the risk)....but, since you're really skinny you might still just be swollen, it does take like geez probably 4 to 6 weeks or so for the swelling to go down after a c-section as opposed to a vaginal birth so maybe you'll luck out and wont have the fat there to hang. Good luck.

I had the same thing and i thought it would NEVER go away - but it did about 2-3 weeks after the C-Sec, It's been 8 weeks now and it's completely gone. Give it time for the swelling to go down - You may just be more swollen this time around. =)

they say if you wait longer than 6 weeks ,you will never get rid of the hangover, some lucky ones dont have to exersise,it just goes away on its own,but it sounds like you may not be that lucky this time, exersise should do it

It's been a week! Give yourself a break. Your skin hasn't even gone back to normal elasticity yet.

To completely eliminate this, you will need to get a tummy tuck.

All the exercise in the world won't make it go away completely.
