It is hard to cover the smell of liquor from yourself, because your body metabolizes it any way it can, including through your pores, so your body reeks of it, not just your mouth. However fast food works really well to get rid of the breath, but it just comes back after a while anyway, Vodka produces less of a scent on the breath, but more of a scent throught he pores. The best way to avoid "alcohol breath" is unfortunately not to drink. Oh and if you mean to avoid a breathalizer, there is no way to beat it, only time, weight, and amount consumed affect it.
