Hi. I'm preparing for a test in Judaism. I am in 8th grade, so the information being tested is sort of on beginner's-level, and what we've learned the past couple weeks is not much, primarily about Jewish holidays and the Judaism's/Jew's history. What would you consider essential concerning these topics?
Thanks for your opinion.

Well, thanks for your question. I would go to your local synagogue and ask. I did the same many years ago, and guess what, I recieved an A.

Good luck with the test!

I think you should learn about the major Jewish holidays:
Yom Kippur (most important one, Day Of Atonement)
Rosh Hashanah (Jewish new year)
The story of Chanukah
Passover/Pesach (retelling of Exodus, when the Israelites fled Egypt)

For Jewish history: big, big topic!

Some especially significant events in recent history, though:

Obviously, the Holocaust.
Then, in 1948, the establishment of Israel.
If you want to go back further, read up online about the expulsion of all Jews from Spain, and also how all the Jewish communities were kicked out of all Islamic countries, except Iran, where some (not many) still live.

If they ask in the test about Israel:

The official language is Hebrew, and then also Arabic

The capital of Israel is Jerusalem

Really hope this helps you! :)
