Many states do allow you to renew your registration online with a valid debit or credit card. Well you said that you didnt receive your renewal letter. That raises a question. Has your state adopted a policy to track vehicle property taxes?? Many states have, did you pay the property tax on your vehicle??, some states now will not send renewal notices if property taxes are still owed on that vehicle. I live in NC, and the way it is done here is that the annual property tax on the vehilce has to be paid before the renewal or the tax office in the county you live in will send a block to the DMV, and you will not receive a renewal notice and you will not be able to renew your registration until the tax is paid

Just go to the DMV and they should be able to look up your registration and they will renew it for you all you need is your ID and maybe your previous registration. You don't need an appointment just take a number and wait.

It depends on the state you're in. For Illinois, you'll need the renewal card to do online renewal. But you just need your license plate number to go into the DMV.

It really depends on the state. In Iowa they print a login on the renewal notice and it only takes a few minutes to spend your money.

Logon to www.dmv.org and click on your state. You may be able to find out about your state there.

ITS BEST IF YOU CONTACT YOUR LOCAL (DMV) DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES OFFICE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.
