I think the church and the fall of the Roman Empire?

Please help!!!! Any information will be useful.
I’ve read the book over and over but I can’t find it!!!
Where does this information appear? In what Canto? or after what fact?

I know it's for sure it's in "Inferno", b/c that was all we read in class....

Over and over? Dante is dense, I couldn't do that too often.

I doubt it's ever said in that concise of a manner, but Paradise has many references to the Empire and the Church
