Stick with things to mix with that you do like, for example pineapple juice, and a liquor (generally a rum or vodka). There are a million simple drinks like Jack and Ginger ale, it really depends upon your taste, and what kind of liquor you enjoy, if not definitely try your hand at a few different things, but take it easy cause mixing different liquors and mixers can make you sick really fast.

Frut Caipiroskas
In a rocks glass, put a handful of chopped strawberrys, or any other berries you like (frozen is fine but thaw them), you can also use the traditional chopped limes, or starfruit, or even something like figs... anything that's on the soft side. Pour some sugar on them (to make it dissolve better you can use castor sugar, or just put regular sugar in a blender dry and blast it for a little bit), and mash it up with a muddler. Then put some crushed ice over it and top her off with vodka.
This can make a great theme party, since all you need is vodka, and have everyone else bring a different kind of sweet fruit.
Here's a video of how to make this drink with the traditional limes, made by a sexy man; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oox-VVTFLfg

I absolutely LOVE this shot - can't get enough of them...
Buttery Nipple
1 part Bailey's Irish Cream
1 part Schnapps, butterscotch
Shot Glass
Layer Irish cream on top of the schnapps in a shot glass.
I like using a double old fashion glass so I don't have to keep refilling the shot glass...

At the bar I work at we created the "Winter Hummer" it consists of Kettle One Cintrone, Blue Curaco, and lemonade. I don't like mixed drinks but this one isn't too bad.
