Yes. You can apply for an officer program. You should do a little research to find out how you want to go. The Navy will have what it needs at present and will steer you in that direction. But, if you're going to make the Navy a career, you owe it to yourself to find a niche you like. Could be closed, but it doesn't hurt to give it a shot.
However, I had a degree and elected to go enlisted because I wasn't sure I wanted a career. A few years later, somebody discovered my degree and suggested OCS. So I became a mustanger.
Enlisting with a degree does give you an advantage over the other guys. You do go in as an E-3... at least you 're a Seaman afgter boot camp rather than a Seaman Apprentice.

Actually no. You don't enlist as an officer. The two types of rank are officer and enlisted. Officers have to be accepted. There are many ways to be accepted. Officers have a 4 year degree in a field the military branch needs. Enlisted can come in right out of high school. There are programs out there where you can go to college as an officer candidate and get your college paid for but in return you give the military x number of years of service. When i was in it was 6 years. not sure what it is now. Officers have O ranks and enlisted have E ranks. Enlisted people must salute officers. There is much more to it than I can possibly post here.

OCS is the commonest way.
At times the miltary has direct commissioning for certain specialties Vetrinarians, Chaplains,Medical Doctors, and even civil engineers (rare) but such openings vary in availability and even term of enlistment/rating.
Way back when I inquired about direct commissions in the U.S. Army at the then 5th Army Headquarteers in Chicago. It was a memorable experience seeing the artful dodger technique first hand ! I spent an entire day running from floor to floor of the 15 story building to find that it was not exactly this department but that I ought to go to roomXXX on the ___ floor and ask for Sgt. Jones who could tell me all about it. Thinking back on it I bet they laughed their ___'s off about it the way I stubbornly walked all around the place seeking that elusive "Snipe" ! Never found it of course.
I'll bet the U.S. Navy has similar offerings and just as much red tape if not more----they've had 40 years to increase it since the time I inquired !

one, Officers do NOT enlist, they are accepted for a Commission. 2, just having a 4 year degree is NOT enough. there are other factors that go into whether or not you are a viable candidate. What your degree is in, your GPA and a whole host of other things play a part.

When you enlist you are enlisted when you are commissioned you are an officer. To my knowledge you can not become an officer by going to a recruiter. Apply at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, or you can go through a college ROTC program.

YES you will need to talk to a recruiter about it. He will tell you that you have to join as an E-3 but that is a lie. He only gets a bonus if he recruited enlisted not officers. You will have to go to training with others who are going to be officers.

Yes - never mind the retoric of enlisting vs being commisioned, but if you have "the right stuff" you can go right into OCS ... if you pass that - you will be an Officer ( O1)

You don't enlist to be an officer. You are commissioned. You need to find an officer recruiter.
