Anybody ever made candied peppers?

Question

I'm thinking small bits of candied jalapenos might be a unique addition to a candy dish. I'm most interested in whether anyone has ever tried it and if so what was the method?

The only candied jalapenos I've had were slices that were canned in a sweet syrup. Sweet and hot, but not dry to put in a candy bowl, for sure. Excellent on a cracker w/ some cream cheese!
