Me and one of friends for into an argument and she said that rice makes your stomach swell and I said it dosent!! Which one of us is right?

opposite, rice swells in your stomach. b/c rice absorbs liquids easily. therefore you may feel overbloated or very full after eating a lot of it.
(coincidentally the same reason you're not supposed to throw it at weddings. teh stomach does not grow with it and that's why the bird's stomaches explode--)

The second answerer is right. Rice swells in your stomach, making you feel full. Then later on when it starts to digest you don't feel so full anymore. I think this is why people say they feel hungry again a short time after eating Chinese food.

if you ate uncooked rice it would. once it is cooked it is rehydrated and doesn't swell anymore.
as for the birds it would be pretty cool to see a bird eat rice and explode.

I have heard rumors that it will make bird's stomachs swell, but that is uncooked. I believe the acid in our tummy's will desolve it.

rice does swell as it cooks, as do most grains, and if you ingest rice that is not fully cooked, it could swell in your stomach.

i think so, cause it expands as it gets moisture. i know when i eat that and spaghetti, i get full real fast, especially when i stand up after eating. sorry...
