if God could part the red sea, and Jesus could feed 5,000 people on a loaf of bread and a couple of fish, He could send the rain- because no matter what you think He created it

another question- would it be better if he got a huge truck and went and stole water from some other state? Maybe for some, because then God would not get the glory-

Adore Him, I am elated that a Governor would stand before the people and ask God for help! I am so very impressed with this man! I know that he is going to get a tremendous amount of persecution for his boldness and this is why I am praying for this man!
I pray that God will use this Governor as an example...that we are one Nation Under God! That God can change things when we pray and ask for His intervention. That God will place favor into the many hearts who will rise against this man, as he stands boldly, proclaiming God and His wonderful ways.
It is my desire that God hears the cries of His people, in Georgia, and will deliver their needs.

1) Rain was forecast DAYS prior to the "prayer vigil" so it's a moot point. 2) there was not nearly enough rain to do anything remotely constituting relief from the drought, if anything, it was a great big F.U.. 3) The SAME series of storms hit tennessee and ripped the roof off of a baptist church and injured some kids when they were hit with debris and flying glass and did a lot of damage.....too funny, way to pray Governor.

Anyone remember the Seperation between Church and State? The government and its leaders are supposed to be NEUTRAL on the subject.
If he wants to pray on his own private time, that's fine. If he wants to tell people to pray, that's fine too.
But he is leading prayers of a specific religion on the taxpayers dime. When he does that he is in the shoes of government authority openly advocating a specific religion.
If he were a Muslim or a Mormon and he tried to do the same thing, the Christians would be screaming for his blood.
And to cap it all off...prayers for rain have as much effect as rain dances or hymns: Zip. Actually doing something...that matters.

It worked. Apparently there were about 20 protesters. I'm sure they'll make a big deal out of it, it worked so their little atheist attempt to stop the intimidating praying will really tick them off. Strange how very intolerant atheists are, huh?

LOL. how does this make him different from native indians? you guys have a primitive governor.
i could care less if he runs around naked praying to a snake god (which ironically christians would throw a massive fit) as long as he gets his job done in a timely and orderly manner.
not only is praying for weather pattern to change stupid and pointless. its primitive and done out of ignorance. because if any other christian is there praying for no rain. then what is god going to do? of course, someones prayer will be answered... lol.
but granted, i havent heard one atheist complain about this. why is it christians tend to put words in our mouths? cause i didnt complain and dont care what he does. pray all you want.

it bothers me that he waited to call his "prayer service" until there was already a forecast of rain... it also bothers me that this seems to be the main point of his plan to take care of the fact that we are running out of water, pray all you want, I want to know where we are going to ship in water supplies from...

This doesn't bother me.I wish that all that rule
in authority would seek God's wisdom. Our
country would be much better off if all bowed the knee to ask for directions, and rain.

If he had walked out on those capitol steps, and prayed to Satan, Poisedon (which would have been somewhat approprite), Allah, Buddha, or any other god for rain, Christians would have FREAKED OUT.
This shows how myopic their little world is.
I live in Georgia. I liked Sonny Purdue somewhat to this point. He has lost a lot of my support by pandering to his base -- redneck Christians.
