im a photographer, and i teach. and ive noticed one thing over the years, people stand up, put the camera to their eye and press a button...

a change in your viewpoint alters perspective. go low, and get in close, tilt the camera back and vertical... and stop trying to show everything in one go... often a part of an image is as tantalising as all of it... and remember to thnk about the rule of thirds, and colour, and depth of field...

look for lines, symmetry and shadows.. see what people dont see, even thought they look every day...

its about seeing what your looking at, and showing people what you see. and what you want them to see. sounds all very zen like and mystical, but i assure you it isnt. its the basis of good photography... and ive been perfecting my art for 35 years, and teaching for 15,

stand a moment, and look... compose expose and click...

look at wunderground.com amazing images, all from around the world... and its better than flicka...

If you want to photograph things "differently" than other photographers, then why are you looking for other photographers?

Just get creative and do your own thing- no need to look at someone else's work to improve your own. The trick is to just get out there & when you're inspired, take a picture.

Try signing on to Flickr. There are LOTS of photos on that site from lots of folks. Many are just 'scenery' or snapshots -- but many are true works of art as well.

It's not necessarily the subject of the photograph that makes it unique, but how you take the photograph.
