If yes what is it?
Before u ask me i walk to the local shop most of the time, usually throw on a sweater instead of turning the heating on, use low energy bulbs, recycle and try to save energy where possible.

You walk to the shops? That would be Peckham Market I guess, has Rodney taken off in the Robin again or has it been nicked from outside Nelson Mandela Towers? Can't trust no-one round there, always wheeling and dealing.

As to your question - we try and do our bit, energy bills have actually come down despite the recent price hikes. We're better insulated now and the heating is only on when it's really needed. We live a bit out of the way (on the edge of the Pennines) and there's only one shop within walking distance of here - the others would require a full days hiking expedition with an obligatory rest at the Red Lion on the way there and back.

We're trying to get planning permission for a wind turbine, we're in a perfect spot - high up and exposed. It would power six houses. Everyone thinks it would be a good idea, there have been no objections but the Council are doing what Council's do (unless they find a way to tax it I don't think they're all that interested). If it goes ahead we should be generating more electricity than we need and can sell the surplus into the grid, in the long run it could be 'a nice little earner'.

Best thing we've done so far is to plant three small forests in Africa so we're carbon neutral for the next 200 years. It cost very little because villagers did the work as they get to harvest and keep the fruit - a win win situation for all.

"If yes what is it? Before u ask me i walk to the local shop most of the time, usually throw on a sweater instead of turning the heating on, use low energy bulbs, recycle and try to save energy where possible."

Man induced Global Warming is junk science so no I am not and will not do anything to reduce my "Carbon footprint". That being said, congrats for walking - good exercise. great work with saving energy - lower power bills and saving energy is always a good thing! Recycle - wonderful!

Don't kid yourself, you have absolutely NO effect on global warming. Sorry, the Sun is much more then a trillion- trillion-trillion-trillion-trillion times more powerful then you. However, you are doing a wonderful job with conservation!

Now having a little fun with your question. Don't walk too fast because you exhale CO2 so if you walk too fast you will exhale excess CO2 and Co2 offset from driving. Don't eat meat because according to a British parlimentarian, the energy exerted during your walk requires consumption of meat. Meat is more costly in greenhouse gases then using automobiles (no kidding! google it!). Since absolutely everything produced requires energy and, thereby, the release of CO2, don't buy any new consumer goods. As time goes on and your clothes, shoes and other goods become unusable, do not put them in the trask where CO2 producing trash compactors pick them and and dump them off - let them decay in your yard. Do not watch TV, use your computer, buy bread or alcoholic beverages. The former requires energy that results in CO2 and yeast (used in baking and fermintation) produces CO2. Limit your breathing. Everythime you exhale, you pollute the planet. Do not have children. Each new human added to the planet results in a huge increase in CO2. If you have already given birth to children, request your children refrain from having children. Again. people pollute when then exhale! I have only just begun.

Just a little fun!

I seriously hope the "heat the earth" thing is a joke. In fact, even if it is a joke then you're an idiot. How will it increase food production when northern and central Africa are already struggling for food because of drought? More water in the seas means more fish? ROFL is all I can say to that. Global warming is already having an impact on the biodiversity of the oceans, just look at the impacts on coral reefs.

What we're talking about is preventing the biggest catastrophe we will ever experience and you people are still worried about the minor inconveniences required to prevent it. We have a case of experts who really know what they're talking about trying to tell idiots who just don't want the hassle.

I only breath every other day to limit my own personal CO2 emissions. I'm driving a car that's fueled by water using reverse osmosis and emits tree saplings from the tailpipe. I also have a big sign on my mailbox that says I won't accept junk mail unless it arrives on recycled paper. And of course this Christmas I'll be giving every one I know carbon credits (which coincidentally, can be redeemed for real carbon at the local Walmart).

I'd pester my neighbors to do their part as well, but when it comes to Global Warming, I'm pro-choice.

That's great that you walk to the store, and do all this other stuff, but do you actually think you're affecting the temperature of the whole earth?
I guess you're one of those people who have bought into this whole "manmade global warming" deal, and I don't blame you. It is a convincing argument, if you haven't read anything to oppose it. You need to read this:
http://www.cei.org/pdf/ait/app.pdf
It is a "summary of distortions" or all of the false arguments, brought up in Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" video (which I saw, and was a load of crap). If you read this, I'm sure it will peak your interest, and you might even change your mind about the whole thing, which I hope you do.
(And, may I add to Gem's statement, that we don't know what normal temperature is, IS there a "normal?")

Yup!

I turn the water off in between rinsing when I'm brushing my teeth.
I wear sweaters/hoodies in the house when I get cold instead of turning on the heat.
I ride a bike!
I recycle.
I use energy saving light bulbs.
I try to be informed about what's going on and I try to get others informed as well.

I recycle, but isnt that for the ecosystem. Im not very smart I suppose. I planted a tree which takes in carbon dioxide and releases lovely oxygen. I guess thats for the ecosystem too. I dont know.

I help reduce global warming.

Yes, I try to never buy products made in China.

Other than that, "global warming" is a bunch of hype.

We are still coming out of the mini-ice age (1300-1900) so we have no idea what normal is.

China is on line to open 500 coal powered electric plants in the next 5 years to keep up their manufacturing.

You can take our cars, you can shutter our factories, and China will still destroy the environment.

low energy light bulbs, recycling, turn lights off when they don't need to be on, walking to 7 11 instead of driving, using cloth towels instead of paper towels to clean up spills.
