Scenario:

Your non-religious parents who love you more than anything, who'd jump in front of a bullet to save you (and visa-versa) are condemned by God to be tortured for eternity on Satan's BBQ for their disbelief.

While ascending the stairway to Heaven, would you feel merely pity? Or would you lash out at God for his judgement? Would you hate God for letting you witness your parents slowly descending into unimaginable suffering on Satan's BBQ grill?

I just don't understand how anyone could be happy in Heaven knowing your parents are being tortured by God's judgement. How could a Christian not be disgusted to the very core with God for that?

my dad died in his sins and went to hell

i know he knew about Jesus and i understand that he made a bad choice

but God is righteous and did not put him there.....my dad chose it

i will see him again to watch him cast into a lake of fire for eternity.

I don't want anyone to go to hell but when they do it is by their choice

I have absolute faith in Jesus Christ. It is known he descended into the world at a time of spiritual ignorance and rampant debauchery. As his fame escalated many sought to profit from the people need for a saviour. Thus Jesus was battling Satan and spreading the word of God, the false profiteering prophets were standing as Gods, idols and icons to a much needful people. For this reason Jesus counselled that his word was the way to salvation and to truth, not wishing the mob to be exploited and led further into depravity. Alas those profiting from his name and gaining great glory by association have taken this momentary truth as a missive to global unity and allegiance to the one Almighty Supreme Spirit. Alas not all Christians are as the Christ, and it is these very coyotes’ in sheep’s clothing that have brought ruin upon Christianity and caused its division and fragmentation. All faiths have a hardcore posse of jackals kept on the payroll by the hierarchy for the purpose of heckling and trolling Gloating, seeking pleasure from the suffering of others or being boastful of one’s supposed sobriety is a heinous sin as it is the very noble souls who have the greatest amount of humility. The world cannot live truly with a clear conscience and peace until humanity is of one accord, and carnal nature is destroyed. Peace Love Prosperity ...

OK -- I'll play by the rules of Heaven.

In Heaven you are granted eternal happiness. You would either 1) be unaware of what happened to your parents or 2) completely forget about them, and I am sure there is another way too, but obviously, that I do not know.

No one knows who is in heaven or hell. I understand this question, and have wondered it myself, but I believe that being with God is perfect happiness. Only He knows how that will be achieved. This is one of the places the faith part comes in.

Are you seriously expecting any kind of reasonable answer?

How about this: "That the saints may enjoy their beatitude and the grace of God more abundantly they are permitted to see the punishment of the damned in hell."
-- Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologica

Great god you guys have got there. God's the one who levels judgement, and according to you guys his sole criteria of whether or not a person is acceptable is whether or not they worshipped him. Anyone who is deemed non-acceptable is tossed into the only place this tiny-minded deity could come up with--a lake of fire.

All offenses of any kind, regardless of severity, are deemed enough to deserve to burn for eternity for. To cap it all off, the list of offenses is so extensive that it is impossible not to commit any of them...mere existence is enough to get you damned.

And the only way out of it is to massage the ego of this small-minded control-freak. The quality of your life, the good or ill you have done in your life has no bearing on your eventual fate. Only whether or not you grovel before his altar/intermediaries/book/whatever.

And you guys claim that this is somehow "just and merciful". You guys worship this monster and demand everyone else worship it "or else".

The claim that God does not condamn anyone is BS. By your own definitions, God is the one who set up the rules, created Hell, decides who gets thrown into it, and by what criteria he bases his judgements. That puts the whole responsability of the entire setup--and its results--squarely on his head (or whatever).

Kinda on the same channel but my thought process just come up with this silly comparison, If i walk up to weaker person than myself and demand they get on their knees and start worshipping me or I am going to make their life a living hell. . . . Does that make me wise, unquestionable and loving. . . . . back to the point.......how can anyone live with their selves knowing their parents are suffering beyond measure. . . that is not love or eternal happiness, that in itself would be HELL

EDIT: Scott M your answer is fantastic, brilliantly put. . . .if it was my question 10 points straight away to you (sorry thrilla, not trying to sway you in anyway). . . you have nailed it mate.

If the parents are so loving then they would be open to hear why their child has accepted Christ as their Savior.
If they, by their own free will choose not to believe in Christ, then their children know that their parents have made their own choice and are not responsible for their parents decision.
Also God is above all and everyone; included our flawed and carnal parents.
To be counted as one of God's own is better than to burn in hell with your family.

They'll tell you about how Jesus came with a sword to divide a family between believers and non-believers.

I really wonder about those that say their loving parents would deserve such a fate... or question their parents love because they believed a theology different from their own.
