I hear all the time that marriage is between "One man, and one woman." What is the Biblical precedent for this? Is it just because Adam and Eve were one man and one woman? Several important Biblical characters had multiple wives, including Solomon and David. What are the arguments (I'm assuming from the New Testament, but I don't know for sure) that changed this?

Or are they in the Old Testament? (This being asked because modern day Jews do not marry more than one spouse.)

I'm looking for where it says, specifically, "Don't do this any more" in some form or another.
