Does anyone know a good book that teaches you how to paint material? eg how to create the illusion of material

For example silk or feather textures (preferably using Acrylics!)

I wish. I have been looking for such a book for years and the closest I have come is a book about how to fake wood grain.

I have found that visiting museums and look at how old masters did it is the best way.
