I am in the market for a new Digital SLR camera and I'm looking at something in the entry model category?

I've got it narrowed down to a Canon EOS XTI or a Nikon of comperable similarites

I have a Canon EOS XT and love it. I don't think you will go wrong with either one. The reason I went Canon is that I had good experience with the Canon SLR film camera's in the past.

It would be hard to go wrong with either camera system. If you had some lenses from a film-based SLR from either system, then it would make sense to stick with that system. Otherwise, go to a camera store, hold each one, check out how it fits in your hand. Are the controls logically placed?Are frequently used controls easy to access or buried in menus?If there were one entry level camera that was clearly superior to every other camera, then the market would reflect that.
