Americans are required to obtain a visa in Mexico before they can legally drive there. Is that racist or good sense? Maybe we should have our brothers south of the border show our officials how to run a country. Maybe this is the answer we need, everyone get a visa. Oh how Racist!

Catch 22, we are called racist, but no one else, liberal card and stomping on freedom of speech. Shouldn't they have to have legal driving, if country of origin does.

maybe they can get a visa if we give them the chance to. i understand u need to be a legal resident to get a license. so why don't we give the honest hardworking ones who just want to help and feed their families a chance to get a visa or resident card. i just think that makes sense. because we know not all of them are notorious criminals and stuff like the media makes them out to be. now i think it is discrimination because everyone clearly singles out mexicans like they are the only illegals in our country.

There is no reason why illegals can't get drivers licenses to legally be able to drive in the US. All they need is to go back to their home country, get their license there, then they can be legally driving in the US, as long as they also get that international certificate to go with it. Problem solved, with the advantage that they still wouldn't get to vote, which is part of the complaint at them being allowed US drivers licenses.
Of course, this doesn't change their legal status in the US if they return without the visa that would be required to return legally. Good luck.

I'll bet my last dollar that anyone agreeing with tis question (or statement) doesn't pay much in the way of taxes or they would not be taking such a pompous stand on what amounts to ignorance.
Please read this quote: "In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
That sums it up, does it not. To not agree with that almost if it doesn't amount to treason. Did some quackpot on the Conservative Right pen that last year? Nope. Some people are fair yet have foresight. That is a quote from the great President Teddy Roosevelt made in 1907, 100 years ago. My but how we have slipped away from that.

I don't care if a bunch of criminals and liberals call me racist. I want MY border guarded. We should translate Mexico's own immigration laws into ENGLISH and adopt them as our own. I won't call Mexico's government racist. I don't know if it is or not, but I will call them hypocrites and can easily prove my case.

Driving is a privilege and not a right. So, the question is do they have the right or the privilege to drive. Then you have a big problem when it comes to insurance because they only keep it for a limited time. You know what's up with that! I have Hispanic friends and they agree with me on those point. We now have over 50 American citizens who drove to Mexico and now they are missing. Drug money and cartels are running Mexico, and they want to bring the stuff here to cripple our population, as well as getting millions. Sorry, I went on a tangent. Thank you for listening.

I think you're a little mixed up.
To start with racism pertains to race, and last time I checked "American" wasn't a race. Secondly the Mexican visa can be obtained by anyone who applies, so it isn't a selective process based on race.
How is needing a visa to drive any different from needing a visa to work in most countries?
Next time you want to ask a question, please prepare yourself by ensuring that you have some idea of what you're talking about.

I normally wouldn't take any advice from the mexican gov't (just look how well their country is doing), but that is a good point. Illegals shouln't be allowed to drive. I don't think it's as much a question of race so much as law and common sense.

No I don't think it is racist. How could it be racist? Illegal alien is not a race.
Mexican is not a race.
Drivers is not a race. (although drivers CAN race)
So how can anything about illegal alien Mexican drivers be racist in any way at all?
They chose and choose to be criminals in this country, nobody needs to help then in any way.
