Don't mistake the love of ping pong and video games for something more than it is. I would enjoy doing these things with people of various ages. A 6 year age difference really isn't a big deal depending where on the scale. Imagine you are dating this guy and he wants to go to the bar every weekend, YOU can't go and odds are there are tons of pretty ladies that CAN go. Just keep that in mind.

The maturity difference between 17 and 24 should be huge. If it's not, then what's wrong with him? If you think you are very mature for your age, then you are perfectly in line with the typical 17 year old girl.
Go for it if you want, but I am willing to bet that in 7 years you will either regret this, or you will recall what a loser this guy was.
There is a ton of growing up that is done between 18 and 24, and if he has not done this yet, then that's a pretty bad sign.

okay is is very common. But only do this if you are sure of his intentions - guys that age do expect certain advantages and if your not ready then don't go any further with this guy. But the age is not really a drama - your older enough he is not old and wrinkly so it is not wrong. Just play it by ere see where things lead to. No need to rush anything and if he is a nice guy he will wait patiently good luck

Men likes younger women, as a rule, but you need to wait a few years & get your life in order; then decide if you want to date an older one or not. You may be more grown-up than he is. Just try to find you someone before you hit around the "30" mark, cause this is when they start looking at the ones your age now.

Don't date him!! While the age difference isn't that great, the maturity level is. He has had alot more experience in dating. He doesn't live with his parents and does things you cannot do. He has experienced life and you just haven't yet.
Be friends, but don't date. Dating to him isn't the same as dating to you. Date people your age, and let him do the same.
This cold only end horribly if you date now. Maybe in 4 years or so...

I agree with the last post I think it is alittle to young to date some one that much older. He might be looking for things that you are not ready for. you should experince thigs kids your age need to exp. he has already gone thru that stage in his life. A family friend of mine is in the same situation and the guy is proposing after 2-3 weeks of dating and they are engaged because he is ready at that stage in his life. She is just excited to be engaged and that he is older. I think you should wait until you are at least 18 and stay friends. maybe after you graduate high school you should then consider a mature relationship. you can still have fun playing games and hanging out.

I don't think its that much of an age differenct. Depending on your state's law you might want to wait til you turn 18 unless 17 is considered legal in your state.
