We go camping alot and I have tried to keep food in ziplock bags in the cooler but water always gets inside the bags. I eeen double bag the food now and the food still gets wet. Does anyone have any ideas to keep the food dry? We camp for 4-5 days most of the time, so we have sandwhich stuff, chicken, veggies etc.

its not the dry foods that are getting wet, its the cold foods getting water in the bags. Everything gets soggy, or liquids get out of the bags and into the ice :(

We've started using the "gladware" cheap plastic tupperware style containers in our cooler instead of plastic bags. You can pick up various sizes of them at your grocery store.

They keep everything dry and they also stack nicely for maximum packing. They are economical and "disposable" after a few dozen uses.

We also fill 2 liter soda bottles with water 3/4 full and freeze them. Use these frozen bottle for your ice. When it melts, the water stays in the bottle and doesn't soak your food. Keep a separate cooler for loose ice.

couple of things to try. instead of putting ice cubes in the cooler try filling a couple of water bottles and freezing less water to soak food. try using a "dry bag" to hold the zip lock bags. you may want to try buying dry ice.

Have you tried placing them in the “tupper ware” type containers? These seem to work very well for me on both short and extended stay camping

Couldn't you just get another cooler and not put ice in it for just your dry foods.
