This true. Neither would they want tithing from any other immoral source. An interesting question remains, if you won ten million, would you be a full tithe payer paying less than a million?

The LDS church is firmly against gambling and does not accept money earned from gambling (assuming they know that that is where it came from). This includes the lottery.

Lottery is gambling, and since we don't believe that gambling is a good thing to do, the church won't accept money that was received from this practice.

Are you talking about tithing? I've heard that too. That we're not supposed to pay tithing on money made illegally or immorally. So that would include lottery winnings. I don't really know that the church goes around checking though........

The Church does not accept tithing on lottery winnings. And gambling is considered a dangerous addictive habit, like unto looking at #### and smoking and drinking. A friend of mine called ma a "hard-core" Mormon for statin that, but the principle is that if it is addicting or habit forming we should avoid it.

The Lord doesn't need our money, He has plenty and knows where to get more (gold, oil, etc.). What He needs is our obedience for us to grow and develop to be able to return to Him. That is why He instituted tithing and offerings. It is for our spiritual development.
He does not deal in filthy lucre. No gambling or illegally obtained money is acceptable before the Lord.

Yes, it's a form of gambling and the mormon church is against gambling.

If you won 10 million, would you actually give 10% of that to a church that is already rolling in the dough *cough*buyingamultibilliondollarmall*cough*
