Does anyone else out there feel like you prefer to be alone?
I will aadmit that i feel very lonely and I wish I had someone that I could be with. I do have friends and I can be very fun and loud and obnoxious around them, but as soon as they ask me to go out or show interest in spending time with me I get scared and I make excuses. I feel so threatened at the prospect of letting others close to me or allowing them into my world.

I am twenty four years old and this has been going on pretty much since highschool and it has gotten much worse since then. It seems like all of my friendships with people are slowly dissolveing with people because of this. I don't want to wake up one day and be eighty years old and realize I've spent my entire life this isolated.

Is this at all normal? Does anyone else ever feel this way?

I had that problem. But what I usually have is that I tend to go alone somewhere to read a good book, but of course I got my friends and spend time with them.
What I can advice you is to take the chance, just once accept one of their invitations to go out and do it, take the "risk", trust me that you will feel so good, and because of the "problem" you got you'll feel so happy at the end of the evening,.. been there!! hehe
Is normal to be scared, but be strong, take that first leap and you'll feel a lot better.

I think you may have anxiety issues and maybe a little adavan or zoloft will help you. I think being around other is energetic and fun. Everyone needs alone time and I cherish it BUT I prefer to be around others.

No and No.
You need to talk to somebody, maybe a counselor or therapist.

Good Luck.
