I am not considering doing this at all. in my health science class we are having to write a paper on anorexia and I'm supposed to write about why people do it. How much weight they lose a day is one of the main things I need to put in it but I can't find any information anywhere. Any help would be appreciated!

that's not the question the teacher asked me to answer. She wanted me to find out what motivates people to do it. and the amount of weight lost per day would be a big motivator i believe

You probably won't find any statistics on that. Every body is different and so while 30 people do the exact same thing, their results will be different.
People become anorexic not because of a number of pounds they can lose per day, but because they think it is the quickest way for them to lose pounds. They think they ae fat (whether they are or ot) and that the only way for them to become skinny is not eating at all, or eating very little.
The real reasons are the deeply rooted emotional issues that cause them to think they are fat. Poor self image, low self esteem and lack of confidence. They think they aren't good enough, smart enough and simpy don't feel accepted. They have the mindset that if they are skinny they will be beautiful and admired, like alot of celebrities. So, they do whatever it takes to get to that point. The bigger problem is they don't know when to stop.
My friend suffered from anorexia. She once said "I will gladly starve myself to death. My life may be short, but at least people will like me while I'm alive. She didn't realize how much people loved her already. She never felt good enough, and saw that as her way to get through that.

I don't know that you are going to find statistics on that. The amount of weight that someone loses will be different depending on a persons metabolism and whether they excercise...plus other factors. A person would not lose a certain amount of weight per day if they didnt eat it depends on a number of factors. So that would be a strange question for a teacher to require you to answer.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
