The truth that the credited authors of the NT were late 2nd century guesses and that it is quite obvious that the NT was written by literary artists lending their art to a theological movement? This can be seen by the vast inconsistencies in the gospels, which would not of occurred if written by witnesses of Jesus, as they would be telling the same events.
As we all know the longer a story travels through word of mouth the more it is prone to fictional embellishments. Jesus was a good man, who surely did many good works, but those fooled into the organized religion of Christianity are following a 2,000 year story of what the authors wanted you to think of Jesus, not a historical tale.
I recommend the 'Jesus Party', it's by the religions professor at Arizona State University, I can't remember his name but he's one of the top experts in the field of early Christianity.

Exactly. The only way to know the real truth is through the Bible. Even the online sites could be lying. A lot of the stuff online is changed and since people think they can just read the Bible online, they could just be finding lies. I really agree with you!

Google no. But you will need help to find it for yourself. Always ask where is it written? How do I find it? Require evidence. For everything said there should be scriptural proof and proof of why it is that way correct.

I too WAS a christian. I spent years researching religion and history, yes I found a great deal about Jesus(only a roman name for him and not his real name) and many other interesting fact about the bible days.
What I found changed my thinking dramatically..!!

Way to leave that vague.
You're the guy who says jesus was octavian, right? So, tell me where to look. I like Roman history, so I'll read it and then post back what I think.
