When the last UK census was taken on 29 April 2001 many people were encouraged to put Jedi as a religion on the form, near the other religion box. It was a bit of a joke to see if the government would then class Jedi as an official UK religion, but a lot more would be needed to make it a recognised religion in the UK than just that.
A lot of people here identified with the Jedi knights as they do seem to be based on druids and a more spiritual earthly energy, harking back to the good old days of British paganism.

Don't remember seeing it. I do remember a fairly popular meme on the 1991 census that got a lot of people to put 'Jedi' in the 'other' category, but it was never an official choice. When the results came in, it was largely dismissed as either timewasting, or a statement to show that personal beliefs were none of the government's damned business.

No it's not

People listed Jedi Knight in an attempt to have it listed as a religion but apparently you need to be a bit more organised

If they ever recognize Jedi as a religion then the movement is lost.

i imagine it shows our British humour off okay. that's positive to be British and irreverent. It makes it confusing for `them` to tug the wool over our eyes. i hit upon the shortcoming of religion invigorating.
